CUNY-WIDE WOMEN’S STUDIES STUDENTS RECOGNITION DAY
John Jay College, May 2009; Hunter College, May 2011
EACH YEAR, STUDENTS WHO HAVE DONE ACADEMIC AND/OR ACTIVIST PROJECTS in WOMEN’S & GENDER STUDIES AT HOSTOS ARE CHOSEN TO REPRESENT US!
ANNOUNCEMENT: The CUNY Women’s Studies Discipline Council and Women’s Centers Council are sponsoring a unique, student-centered event that recognizes outstanding activist or scholarly work by undergraduate students at each of the CUNY colleges. The Women’s Studies Discipline Council of CUNY holds an annual or biannual awards ceremony in which students from each campus will be asked to share their outstanding work in this field. Nominated students will receive certificates of recognition from CUNY. The event is both festive and educational; students’ presentations broaden our awareness of excellent WGS work accomplished on other campuses while we celebrate our own students’ fine contributions.
On behalf of the Women’s Studies Discipline Council and the Women’s Centers of CUNY, we look forward to celebrating great feminist work on our Student Recognition Awards Day.
