EARTH DAY CELEBRATION
LIVING TOGETHER: INVESTING IN OUR PLANET
Natural Sciences Department
April 11 – 14, 2022
International Earth Day offers an opportunity to raise global public awareness of the challenges to the well-being of our planet and all the life it supports. The Natural Sciences Department invites the Hostos College community to take collective responsibility to promote harmony with nature and the Earth. It is time to move beyond the destructive way of the past, and apply an ethical perspective in our efforts to achieve balance among the economic, social, and environmental needs of the present and future generations of humanity. This celebration is also an opportunity to find common solutions to protect natural habitats and their animals, plants, insects, and microorganisms, as well as to prevent the Sixth Mass Extinction where the survival of the human species is itself in peril.
