Nelson Nuñez-Rodriguez, B.S.E., M.A., M.S., Ph.D. Nelson Nunez Rodriguez is an Associate Professor of Chemistry and Unit Coordinator at Natural Sciences Department, Hostos Community College of the City University of New York. He develops his scholarship in both neuronal cell death mechanisms related to Alzheimer Disease and pedagogical settings fostering Science student academic engagement. He is also the director of the Center for Teaching and Learning at this institution from 2011. He received a magna cum laude Bachelor Degree in Biology from Havana University, Cuba in 1992 and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from National University of Cordoba, Argentina in 2001. He also received a postdoctoral training at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York from 2001 to 2005. He has taught Biology and Chemistry subjects in Cuba, Argentina and EEUU for 20 years. Currently, he is the American Society for Cell Biology linkage fellow at the institution and the Program coordinator for the NIH-IRACDA grant in partnership with Albert Einstein School of Medicine and Lehman College.
