Submission Guidelines

Writers!

Send your work to Prof. Miriam Laskin (Library, Room A 213H) in MS Word or RTF format via the  submit work page or as an e-mail attachment to MLASKIN@HOSTOS.CUNY.EDU .

On the submit work page, you can upload your submission by clicking on “Browse” and finding the document or file you want to send. There is also a box where you can write comments or notes to us about your work. If you want to submit more than one item, you can do so. Just fill out the online form each time and upload your work and send.  Submissions due by the end of each Spring Semester.

Accepted works include short stories, essays, poetry, interviews, news articles, excerpts from novels in progress and more.

Artists!

If you want to submit a digital photograph or other digital work of art, it must be at least 5″x7″ and have a resolution of at least 300 pixels in order for it to be displayed well in print. Accepted File Types include JPG, PNG, TIFF, PDF, and EPS.  You can submit as many images as you want. Use the form on our submit work page to send us your art. You can also contact Prof. Miriam Laskin (Library, Room A 213H) to set up an appointment to photograph or scan the art you would like to submit. Call Prof. Laskin at (718) 518-4207 or email her at MLASKIN@HOSTOS.CUNY.EDU to make an appointment. Provide your contact information including your name and email address or phone number so she can reach you.  Submissions due by the end of each Spring Semester.

Accepted works include paintings, drawings, photography, collage, sculpture, digital image manipulation, typography, poster art, 3D renderings, communication design, and more.
