Electives are sophomore-level literature classes intended for students who have completed their freshman year in English. Electives are the most specifically-focused English classes offered at Hostos. They are designed to foster a more sophisticated approach to literature and to afford opportunities to refine skills from freshman courses.
This booklet articulates reading, writing, and research expectations for English electives. It is edited by Professor Michael Cisco and has contributions from Professors Christine Hutchins, Craig Bernardini, Maya Sharma, Elyse Zucker, and other English department faculty members.
