Hostos Online Course Development Guidelines
The Hostos Online Course Development Guidelines provide a framework for creating effective and engaging online learning experiences that meet quality standards, promote student learning and success, and enhance the overall educational experience for students. To meet the needs of Hostos faculty, the guidelines provide a set of best practices aligned with the approaches from several sources that bridge institutional policies and industry best practices, namely California State University (CSU) guidelines for online learning, California State University, Chico guidelines for online learning, Quality Matters, emphasizing the guidelines developed by The SUNY Online Course Quality Review Rubric (OSCQR). OSCQR is a widely recognized and respected resource for evaluating and improving the quality of online courses underscoring the learner-centered approach.
The Hostos online learning guidelines will be continuously adapted to address the changes in the field infused by a variety of teaching modalities and AI enhancements, assuring that online courses meet the highest standards of quality and effectiveness in the rapidly evolving educational landscape.
