Creating vs Curating

When thinking about using videos in your teaching, the purpose will help you decide if you should record videos, or you should curate them. If the purpose is lecture capture for students who miss classes, then you should do it. However, if the purpose is to target videos to illustrate specific concepts better, then before creating them, you should look for if a similar one already exists and if you can just use it. YouTube has a lot of good-quality videos that explain the point very well. As an instructor, you should watch the videos evaluate them, and decide if that was what you were thinking. If you do not find any that is suitable, then you might want to record it.
