It is no secret that group work increases student engagement and creates an environment conducive to deep learning. To develop social skills and create a sense of belonging, students must interact with the content, other students, and faculty. Group work allows peer students to support one another, and students may respond better to other students in some cases. Students are motivated to keep going and moving forward when they know they have a support system behind them. All LMSs allow instructors to create groups, and they can use any group organization they are used to in a traditional classroom. Groups are an excellent way to increase student engagement and growth.
