ADVANCED BRIGHTSPACE GUIDELINES FOR FACULTY
Course Copy
Course Copy allows you to efficiently transfer materials, settings, and components from one course to another within Brightspace. Blackboard courses from Spring 2022 onwards have been migrated into Brightspace, and empty Fall 2024 course shells are now available in Brightspace. This handout guides you on using Course Copy in Brightspace to transfer materials and settings into your course shells for the upcoming semester.

B Select Components. Select this option if you wish to copy the individual items from the course, e.g., only the syllabus.

In our example, we selected the Syllabus/Course Information module, indicated by the + icon in front of its name. This is a large container that contains the individual file we wish to copy, in this case EdTech 101 Syllabus.
Continue.
Finish.
NOTE: When copying individual components in Brightspace, the main concerns are maintaining all desired associations, avoiding duplication of items, and ensuring that existing components in the destination course are not inadvertently overwritten.
