Welcome back to a new academic year!
EdTech has been busy this summer further enhancing and streamlining the wealth of services it offers to faculty and students. The Office of Academic Affairs has spent the summer working on our operational plan, which is aligned with the college’s soon to be rolled out strategic plan. Within this plan are opportunities for faculty to increase their usage of online resources, including blackboard, to attend integrative technology workshops, to increase the use of e-portfolios with our students, and to increase the number of hybrid courses we offer students. The Office of Ed Tech is integral in supporting faculty in achieving these goals. If you have not yet visited their upgraded area, I suggest you stop by, even if it is just to say hello. There is a great Faculty Learning Commons equipped with couches, moveable tables and a smartboard. The main area has work stations for faculty use and the staff are there to lend support and answer questions. If you would like suggestions on how to use technology to enhance student learning or if you have suggestions to share with us, the staff of Ed Tech and I are here to assist you. Have a great semester!
