Victor Torres-Velez

Dr. Víctor M. Torres-Vélez is an Assistant Professor in the Latin American & Caribbean Studies Unit of the Humanities Department at Eugenio María de Hostos Community College, City University of New York. He received his B.A. from the University of Puerto Rico (1996) and his M.A. (2003) and Ph.D. (2007) from Michigan State University. He is a critical medical anthropologist by training, who specializes in gender, justice and environmental change. Dr. Torres-Vélez’ interdisciplinary theoretical expertise and interests are diverse. Some of these include: gender, race, environmental justice, and theories of social change.
