Alisa Roost

Alisa Roost (Professor, Chair of the Humanities Department) is a proud graduate of the CUNY Grad Center, with a PhD in theater. Her research interests have focused on the nexus of popular culture and musical theater, but recently, she has looked more at masculinity and race in popular culture. She has served as chair of the Humanities Department since 2016, but will step down at the end of this year. She loved teaching at Ottisville Correctional Facility and working with alums from that program. She has served as the Show Director and Stage Manager for Netroots Nation since its inception.
