Dr. Shiang-Kwei Wang formerly served as the Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs at the Harold Washington College, City Colleges of Chicago. Prior to joining City Colleges of Chicago, she served as the Dean for Research at Queensborough Community College (QCC), City University of New York, the Associate Dean of the School of Education at New York Institute of Technology (NYIT), and Chair of the Instructional Technology Program at NYIT.
Shiang-Kwei has extensive experience in strategic planning, curriculum development, accreditation and assessment, technology integration, pedagogical research, and program administration. Dr. Wang is the principal investigator of multiple private, federal, and state grants, including the National Science Foundation and the Illinois Community College Board. In addition, Dr. Wang was the PI of the Bank of America TechQuity grant to address the equity issue of Chicago workforce training. Dr. Wang was also a tenured full professor at NYIT, taught both graduate and undergraduate level courses, and has served on the committees of numerous professional organizations. Dr. Wang’s research interests include the impact of new media and technology on learning motivation and performance, teacher professional development, as well as pedagogical practices. Dr. Wang holds a Ph.D. in Instructional Technology from the University of Georgia, Athens; an MBA in Communication Technology from Yuan-Ze University, Taiwan; and a Bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Sciences from Tamkang University, Taiwan. She received the United Federation of Fil-Am Educators’ Outstanding Leadership in Education Award in 2020.
