Mohamed Aden, a Civil Engineering student, was one of the four Hostos students named as a 2019 Kaplan Scholar. Mohamed had participated in the Title V undergraduate research initiative as a student research assistant with Professor Victoria Munoz from the English Department. Mohamed is currently working an internship for environmental activism which aligns directly with his career goals (green energy). Professor Munoz mentored Mohamed while working on her research topic, Spanish Romance in the Battle for Global Supremacy, and she nominated Mohamed for both the Kaplan scholarship and the environmental activism internship. Professor Munoz stated, “These achievements are a testament of what a difference the student research mentorship program can make for a student.” To find out more about the four Hostos students who have been named Kaplan Scholars click here, https://www.hostos.cuny.edu/Home-Page-Content/News/Four-Hostos-Students-Earn-Kaplan-Scholarships.
