I hope you had a good and productive summer.
To the best of our knowledge, we are happy to share with you some recent achievements of alumni and current Women in the Engineering Program. Please see below:
- Wendy Fernandez, B.E. in Electrical Engineering, has been accepted to pursue her Master in Integrated Circuits at Columbia University and was awarded the highly competitive National GEM Fellowship, which funds Master’s and Ph.D.s in engineering. Wendy finished her B.E. with 4.0 GPA and was selected the Class 2019 Grove School of Engineering Salutatorian.
- Oluwafemi Ligan, B.E. in Chemical Engineering, has been accepted to work as Associate Engineer at Merck Pharmaceutical Company in Elkton, Virginia.
- Arly Wispe, B.E. in Chemical Engineering, has been accepted to work as Associate Engineer at Merck Pharmaceutical Company in Elkton, Virginia.
- Isamar Garrido Rodriguez, B.E. in Chemical in Engineering, has been accepted to pursue her Master in Cosmetic Science at Cincinnati University.
- Dejolie Christelle Mbe Foam, B.E. in Biomedical Engineering, Associate Software Engineering at Optum, completed her Master in Software Engineering at New Jersey Institute of Technology and recently was accepted to pursue her Ph.D. in Information Technology with a speciality in Cybersecurity and Assurance at Capella University.
- Juanny Nuñez, B.E. in Chemical Engineering, was awarded an internship for the 2019 Summer NSF REU Program at the University of Houston as Research Scholar.
- Elayne Blancas, A.S. Electrical Engineering, was awarded an internship at MIT 2019 Summer Program in Biology and Neuroscience and won first place for her oral presentation at the CUNY Research Scholar Program (CRSP) Symposium in July 2019.
- Fatimata Kafando, A.S. in Civil Engineering, has been awarded a scholarship to pursue her B.E. in Civil Engineering at Texas Tech University and won first prize for her poster presentation at the CUNY Research Scholar Program (CRSP) Symposium in July 2019.
- Ndeye Bakhoum, Mechanical Engineering major, has been awarded a full travel award to attend and present her research at 2019 SACNAS Conference this fall 2019 in Honolulu, Hawai. She is co-author of the winner poster at the CUNY Research Scholar Program (CRSP) Symposium in July 2019 together with Fatimata Kafando.
- Bielka Peña, Chemical Engineering major, won first prize for her poster presentation at the CUNY Research Scholar Program (CRSP) Symposium in July 2019.
