Olen Dias, Ph.D., associate professor of mathematics at Hostos Community College was nominated by the Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs and has been invited to attend the Banco Santander W30 Program in June 2017. Professor Dias is currently the Deputy Chair of the Mathematics Department, a key player in the college’s Teagle Grant, and an innovator in the classroom. Professor Dias is a constant support for taking calculated risks in the classroom that help students accelerate their progress through remedial and developmental education. Her willingness to engage successfully in these and other institutionally supported classroom and division-wide initiatives make her a positive role model among her colleagues. We are excited about her participation in the program and her growing role as a leader on campus.
