On Tuesday, March 15, 2016, the Hostos Community College Senior Dental Hygiene students were invited to attend a taping of the Dr. Oz show. Dr. Mehmet Oz has consistently shown a dedication to the influence of oral health and overall systemic health. The Dr. Oz show reached out to health programs throughout the city and included the Hostos Community College Dental Hygiene Program in their invitation.
The show’s topic was about healthy vs. unhealthy food choices in relation to nutrition and diet. The students were accompanied by Professor Salim Rayman, Dental Hygiene Unit Coordinator, and Profs. Petal Leuwaisee, Joyce Dais, Julie Bencosme, and Ms. Denice Brown and Ms. Joy Perez. The show is scheduled to air in early May.
