The Honors Program at Hostos Community College took an overnight trip to Cambridge, MA in April 18th to visit the prestigious caps at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard. Nine students, accompanied by Program Directors Cynthia Jones and Linda Anderson and the Program Coordinator Karina Castro, took guided tours of both Universities to see and experience what academia can look like at a 4-year institution. “I had never thought I would actually end up at a school like one of these!” said Rokia Diabi in a debrief about the trip. “Getting to see the campuses for myself was amazing because now I know for myself that I can end up somewhere like Harvard!” In addition to the two campus tours, the students enjoyed a trip to the Science Museum, and several opportunities to bond together.
