English Professors Andrea Fabrizio and Gregory Marks were awarded a $25,000 grant from the Apgar Foundation to fund a collaboration between Hostos CC and Columbia University. Drawing on the strengths of Columbia University’s famous Core Curriculum, the “Core Program at Hostos” seeks to incorporate elements of the Core into Hostos’ English course sequence. This initiative will bring Columbia faculty to campus during the 2015-2016 academic year to lead Hostos instructors in discussions that raise enduring questions in the humanities. The goal is to foster a learning community among students through a common educational experience.
