Despite increased enrollment in higher education across the nation, injustice continues to prevail in society and in our communities. Hostos Community College was founded by political and educational advocates and the faculty, staff, and students of Hostos are no different. Our educational community members refuse to stand idle in the face of controversy and dedicated time to collaborate with the nationwide Hands Up social movement. Hostos Hands Up was brought together by faculty and student scholars and additional advocates from within the Hostos family. Black Studies, Media Design, Academic Affairs, Student Activities and Student Government have joined forces to plan an important series of reflective and proactive lectures and events during Black History Month. The time is going fast so mark your calendars with all of the month’s events. Find out more about the Black History Month calendar of activities by clicking here.
