Books- Our online catalog provides detailed information on Library materials at all CUNY Campuses, such as books, periodicals, and audio-visual materials. Search the catalog to determine if Hostos Community College Library owns a particular title. If so, CUNY+PLUS will tell you whether that title is currently available (not checked out) and where in the Library it will be located.
As a student or faculty member of Hostos Community College, and by extension, The City University of New York, you are eligible for borrowing privileges at (most) other CUNY libraries. See The City University of New York Library Services home page on Access and Borrowing Privileges at CUNY for further information.
Articles- We subscribe to online databases that contain citations and full text for thousands of scholarly journals, newspapers and other periodicals. These are all available 24/7 from our website. You can access these resources off-site, with the barcode on your student ID.
Research Guides– Visit the pathfinders and subject guides Hostos Community College Librarians have created, with your coursework in mind. Use the resources listed as launching points for your research.
Reference Help– Librarians are available at the reference desk for in-person research help. We also offer an online Ask-A-Librarian service in order to provide brief library and reference information to individuals working from remote sites.
Sign-up for an individualized research consultation. One of our librarians will work with you (or your group) on a specific assignment or project. Consultations are 30 minutes.
