Dr. Susan Ko. Keynote SpeakerDr. Susan Ko, Faculty Development Director of CUNY’s School of Professional Studies, holds a PhD from Yale University in East Asian Languages and Literatures. She spent over a decade teaching world literature, humanities and Asian Studies in the California State University system before becoming involved in online education, and served for seven years as the Executive Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning at University of Maryland University College.  She is co-author with the late Steve Rossen of a leading book on the subject of online teaching, widely adopted by faculty development programs nationwide, entitled Teaching Online: A Practical Guide, now in its third edition from Routledge.

The Showcase

The showcase is a half-day event, comprising two sessions of presentations, which include multimedia presentations, technology demonstrations, and a keynote speech. These presentations will discuss recent practical technology uses in education, focusing on strategies, experiences and techniques with regards to improving student participation, performance, and engagement. Showcase presentations are generally 10 to 15 minutes in length, including time for Q&A. The conference language is English.
