The General Education Committee is committed to spreading an understanding of general education at Hostos to all campus educators.  Recently, the committee has emphasized general education skills assessment in courses, and further advocates for evidence-based decision-making and for interdisciplinary sharing of assignment designs, grading techniques, and course outcomes.

Quantitative Reasoning/Quantitative Literacy is the 2014-2015 skill of the year.  Find all QR/QL resources including professional development dates and activities here:

The Committee has designed student core competencies, skill-measuring rubrics, an interdisciplinary syllabus template, and a course meta-mapping tool.
