Andragogy – Putting the “Adult” in Teaching and Learning

September 27 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Room: B-413

Description:

We often use the term, “pedagogy” within the scope of our practice in general academia. But the actual practice of this method is often misrepresented in higher education. In this informative session, the proper term, “andragogy” will be defined in its distinctions from pedagogy. The origin and evolution of andragogy will be explored, as well as the use of strategies for designing learning activities within our course work. Experiences for adults using the tenets of andragogy will be examined in its application of enhancing student learning outcomes.
