The Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs has implemented this monthly newsletter as a means of communication. The Academic Scoop is designed to spotlight approaches to pedagogy, faculty research and service and showcase scholarly achievements, outcomes from academic programming, and proceedings of special initiatives. We encourage all of our readers to consider the Scoop as a venue for sharing their professional journey with the broader community of educators at Hostos. Since 2015, the Academic Scoop has been a tool used to raise awareness of the commendable work happening within Academic Affairs and we hope that you’ll love reading about your colleagues’ work. We invite each of you to tour this blog site where all Scoop articles are archived and if you have ideas for contributions, we invite you to contact us in the Office of Academic Affairs.
If you have a teaching strategy, achievement or news you would like to share, send your profile information including email and phone extension and a summary of your entry to firstname.lastname@example.org. Your profile should include your name, title, department, email, and phone number. Please use Academic Scoop Submission in the subject line.
Submission deadlines are usually the last Monday of each month to be included in the following month’s edition of the Academic Scoop. The Scoop is usually released on the first Monday of each month.
